Ashley...16....CAR...ugh!!!

Ashley turns 16 on Thursday & I've been looking for an inexpensive little car for her. GEEZ..are there any to be found without traveling across the state?!? I gave her an incentive of a car, if she would get her Young Womanhood Recognition done. Well...guess what....she is almost done with it & is holding me to my promise...IMAGINE THAT!! (what was I thinking)?? Sometimes 'mothers' lose their minds & say or do things that are CRAZY!! =) Anyways.... hopefully I will find a good little car that will get her to school & back. Any suggestions???

Update on Sports.....

Ashley has a Volleyball game today against Snowflake & hopefully they will WIN!! They have a good little team but don't seem to have much luck with winning. Hayden has a Football game here on Friday against Williams Field (a new Gilbert school) & hopefully they will WIN too. Our football team has played Coolidge, St. Johns & Wilcox - winning 2 out of 3. Conference games start next Friday, Oct. 3rd, against Snowflake & it is Homecoming!! There are some good teams in the 3A East...so we should have some EXCITING games ahead.

I will try to get some pics posted soon....... I promise!!

OK...OK...I'm blogging about my family....

I can't believe it is already the middle of September & autumn begins Monday. This is my favorite time of year. I love the leaves changing, the cooler (sweater) weather, football games and the new candles that smell of home-made goodies baking in the oven.

How blessed I am to have a wonderful family who loves me unconditionally & I TOTALLY love them the same. Dusty has been patient with me learning the ropes at the store. We have had some difficult times but all in all I think it's going to be GREAT!!

Hayden has been busy with football! I am happy that he is doing something he loves & is doing so great at it!! I am becoming quite the football fan...even watching NFL & College games at home. I believe that Hayden has alot of potential to do great things in his life. Today I signed him up to take the ACT test & had to name colleges that he is interested in....WOW...it's hard to believe he's going to be gone soon. I tear up just thinking about it...I am definately one of those mothers who boobs over every little thing lately.

Ashley is playing Volleyball & is doing really good. I just love this dark haired girl of mine....she makes me laugh. She will be 16 on October 2nd & I'm not sure about her driving & dating!?!? What a great group of friends she has & I hope they will continue to look out for each other, be happy & enjoy life to the fullest.

My heart is heavy for a dear friend who is having health problems. I hope he continues to get better & will stay positive...no matter what!! I truly believe with cancer that you have to stay positive, hang in there & fight, fight, fight!! (once a cheerleader, always a cheerleader..sorry) I believe there's HOPE! We love you Steven!

Christian & Stephanie Nielson

You may have noticed in the past month that I have had an "Update on Christian & Stephanie Nielson" link on my blog. This couple was in a private plane crash in St. Johns, AZ on August 16th & were badly injured. They have 4 small children who are being cared for by family. I did not know this couple personally but since the accident I have followed their story closely. Stephanie is well known for her blog The Nie Nie Dialogues (link on side-bar) which is a wonderful insight into the life of a modern-day wife & mother. Stephanie's sister Courtney is caring for 3 of their children & updates her blog daily at C Jane Run (link on side-bar).

Yesterday Stephanie's siblings were on the "Today Show" talking about the love & support of so many people. They have received over $100,000 in donations from around the world. If you would like to donate, follow the link =)

The Power of Prayer

Yesterday my Mom had her chemotherapy treatment in Tucson and was told that she is in REMISSION!!! There is no sign of the cancer~~~Yeah!!! :) Talk about prayers being answered!! Her Dr. wants to continue chemotherapy, because pancreatic cancer is one of the worst kinds to have & they don't want to take any chances on it coming back. She was diagnosed a year ago & has truly been through alot. I believe her positive attitude has pulled her through~~~I Love You Mom~~~

Last weekend my Mom & I went to visit my nieces & nephews (Dustin, Lorri, Farrah & Andrew(my brother Doug's kids) in Anthony NM (near El Paso, Tx). What a wonderful time we had~~~~Farrah had her 21st birthday party & I got to see my great-nieces (Alexis & Kaelynn), who are the cutest little girls in the world!!!
Here is a pic of my Mom, Alexis & Kaelynn
