Tis the Season....

I love the Christmas season! When I was younger, Christmas was the most WONDERFUL time of year. My family spent many Christmas's with my Moms parents. I loved my grandparents so much & enjoyed spending the holidays with them. I LOVED CHRISTMAS!! As I have gotten older, Christmas has become stressful worrying about what gifts to buy. How do you STOP stressing & enjoy the season?

Last year we went to Disneyland with all of Dusty's family. It was really nice to be together in such a magical place and enjoy just being TOGETHER!! Family is truly one of life's biggest treasures!

I didn't know if my Mom would be here for another Christmas & she IS!! I am so thankful for GOOD doctors & the power of prayer. My Mom is doing GREAT & the cancer is STILL in remission (yeah)!! I have had so many blessings in my life that make this Christmas even more SPECIAL. Lately, I can't help but think of my LIFE & how did I get where I am today? I have a WONDERFUL husband who is truly the BEST thing that has ever happened to me. We have been married for 21 years & there have been ups & downs but we hang in there no matter what(thank goodness). My children are AMAZING!! Hayden is such a SWEETHEART, he is kind hearted & will USUALLY do anything you ask him to do. Ashley is my GIRL, she is COMPASSIONATE & LOVING (most of the time) towards her family and friends! I have the BEST friends in the world. What a WONDERFUL life I have been BLESSED with. There is definately NO room for being stressed this Christmas! May we all remember our SAVIOR this Christmas & the ultimate sacrifice that he made on our behalf. I love each of you & hope you have a MERRY CHRISTMAS!

The "CAR"...

So....I found an inexpensive car for Ashley in Phoenix & it gets good gas mileage~ YEAH!! It's a 97' Honda Civic & boy was it a good deal. The interior needed some cleaning & the exterior needed some repair but it runs good....which is the MOST important thing (right?)!! It's kind of un-nerving to have her just take off without me :( I'm not sure I like it!! Here are a couple of pics...

Ashley...16....CAR...ugh!!!

Ashley turns 16 on Thursday & I've been looking for an inexpensive little car for her. GEEZ..are there any to be found without traveling across the state?!? I gave her an incentive of a car, if she would get her Young Womanhood Recognition done. Well...guess what....she is almost done with it & is holding me to my promise...IMAGINE THAT!! (what was I thinking)?? Sometimes 'mothers' lose their minds & say or do things that are CRAZY!! =) Anyways.... hopefully I will find a good little car that will get her to school & back. Any suggestions???

Update on Sports.....

Ashley has a Volleyball game today against Snowflake & hopefully they will WIN!! They have a good little team but don't seem to have much luck with winning. Hayden has a Football game here on Friday against Williams Field (a new Gilbert school) & hopefully they will WIN too. Our football team has played Coolidge, St. Johns & Wilcox - winning 2 out of 3. Conference games start next Friday, Oct. 3rd, against Snowflake & it is Homecoming!! There are some good teams in the 3A East...so we should have some EXCITING games ahead.

I will try to get some pics posted soon....... I promise!!

OK...OK...I'm blogging about my family....

I can't believe it is already the middle of September & autumn begins Monday. This is my favorite time of year. I love the leaves changing, the cooler (sweater) weather, football games and the new candles that smell of home-made goodies baking in the oven.

How blessed I am to have a wonderful family who loves me unconditionally & I TOTALLY love them the same. Dusty has been patient with me learning the ropes at the store. We have had some difficult times but all in all I think it's going to be GREAT!!

Hayden has been busy with football! I am happy that he is doing something he loves & is doing so great at it!! I am becoming quite the football fan...even watching NFL & College games at home. I believe that Hayden has alot of potential to do great things in his life. Today I signed him up to take the ACT test & had to name colleges that he is interested in....WOW...it's hard to believe he's going to be gone soon. I tear up just thinking about it...I am definately one of those mothers who boobs over every little thing lately.

Ashley is playing Volleyball & is doing really good. I just love this dark haired girl of mine....she makes me laugh. She will be 16 on October 2nd & I'm not sure about her driving & dating!?!? What a great group of friends she has & I hope they will continue to look out for each other, be happy & enjoy life to the fullest.

My heart is heavy for a dear friend who is having health problems. I hope he continues to get better & will stay positive...no matter what!! I truly believe with cancer that you have to stay positive, hang in there & fight, fight, fight!! (once a cheerleader, always a cheerleader..sorry) I believe there's HOPE! We love you Steven!

Christian & Stephanie Nielson

You may have noticed in the past month that I have had an "Update on Christian & Stephanie Nielson" link on my blog. This couple was in a private plane crash in St. Johns, AZ on August 16th & were badly injured. They have 4 small children who are being cared for by family. I did not know this couple personally but since the accident I have followed their story closely. Stephanie is well known for her blog The Nie Nie Dialogues (link on side-bar) which is a wonderful insight into the life of a modern-day wife & mother. Stephanie's sister Courtney is caring for 3 of their children & updates her blog daily at C Jane Run (link on side-bar).

Yesterday Stephanie's siblings were on the "Today Show" talking about the love & support of so many people. They have received over $100,000 in donations from around the world. If you would like to donate, follow the link =)

The Power of Prayer

Yesterday my Mom had her chemotherapy treatment in Tucson and was told that she is in REMISSION!!! There is no sign of the cancer~~~Yeah!!! :) Talk about prayers being answered!! Her Dr. wants to continue chemotherapy, because pancreatic cancer is one of the worst kinds to have & they don't want to take any chances on it coming back. She was diagnosed a year ago & has truly been through alot. I believe her positive attitude has pulled her through~~~I Love You Mom~~~

Last weekend my Mom & I went to visit my nieces & nephews (Dustin, Lorri, Farrah & Andrew(my brother Doug's kids) in Anthony NM (near El Paso, Tx). What a wonderful time we had~~~~Farrah had her 21st birthday party & I got to see my great-nieces (Alexis & Kaelynn), who are the cutest little girls in the world!!!
Here is a pic of my Mom, Alexis & Kaelynn

"time flies when you're having fun"

I've been thinking about this Summer & the fun we've had............

We went fishing at Roosevelt on Memorial Day Weekend & had so much fun. Caught quite a few fish.......Dusty caught a 10lb bass & Hayden caught a 12lb bass..........(K, who's the better fisherman now?) =)

In June I went to Rocky Point, Mexico with CB, my Mom, Suzanna, PJ & Mary. I had never been to Mexico & it was sooooo relaxing. I enjoyed it very much!! It was nice spending time with my Mom.

When I got back from Mexico......Julie Allen, Ashley, Shilee & I went to see Tim Mcgraw...WOW!!! He is GREAT in concert! He truly is a "Real Good Man" =DDD

July started off with a BANG!! Ashley, Rachel & Macie Wiltbank, Darrlyn & Jonna Edwards & I went to the AMERICAN IDOL Concert in Glendale........We LOVED it!! We are BIG AI fans & are going to make this an annual trip. Spending time together was priceless....Thanks guys!!

Dusty & Hayden went to football camp in Colorado for a week in July. We can't wait to watch some games............."WE ARE READY FOR SOME FOOTBALL"!!!!!

School starts this coming Wednesday (8/13) & it's just come too quickly. I've enjoyed my kids this Summer & look forward to a "WONDERFUL" year!!

I am working at the Appliance store & so far so good!! Hopefully all will go well for everybody. I MISS everyone at RVVC though =(

Prof. Randy Pausch 47 dies from Pancreatic Cancer

I've been watching this amazing man fight this horrible disease. He has done it with such grace. If you haven't read "The Last Lecture" by Professor Randy Pausch, please do, it is so inspiring!! My heart goes out to his family (he leaves behind a wife & 3 small children).

My Mom was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer in September of 2007. She was unable to have the surgery to remove the tumor & is on the chemotherapy plan. The tumor seems to be inactive & shrinking slowly. YEAH!! Hopefully her positive attitude will pull her through.

Please check out my link to the Pancreatic Cancer site & donate if you can. Thanks!!

Hello......................

Wow Summer is flying right along---- Please slowwwwww down:( !! I'm not ready for Hayden to be a Senior it's crazy how fast they grow up. This Summer has been filled with sports camps, practices & hanging out with friends. As for Dusty & I --- work, work, work! Dusty and I are building a new store in Eagar in front of Bashas....Eagar Appliance formally known as Brannon's Refrigeration. Hopefully we will be in the store by August & have a Grand Opening September 1st. I have given my notice at Dr. Heaps office after 8 years. It is truly bittersweet but I look forward to my new adventure working with Dusty at the new store.
